Dr Williams is a distinguished overseas based Berbician who has been admitted to the local bar Dr Vivian Mortimer Williams ESQ is formerly of Vryheid, West Canje, Berbice.

Before leaving these shores Dr Williams graduated from the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) and then the University of Guyana with a Degree in Communications.

After leaving these shores his achievements subsequently comprised a Doctorate in business administration from the Baruch College a public college in New York City. Master of Laws in Global Antitrust Law and Economics from George Mason Law School also in the US; Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University and Masters in Strategic Public Relations from the George Washington University School of Political Management.

Dr Williams obtained his eMBA (Executive MBA)from TRIUM Global Executive EMBA, jointly administered by NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and HEC Paris.

With close to two decades of litigation. His specialties include cross-border mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, antitrust, corporate reorganization, innovation and entrepreneurship, real estate and appellate advocacy, transactional experience in quantitative analysis, statistical methods, economic models, crises and risk management.

His writings include the Many Sides of Social Capital. How Social Capital is Related to Entrepreneurship.

Dr Williams is currently the Principal and Managing Attorney of VMW Law in the United States and the Caribbean.

In his earlier more youthful days in Guyana Dr Williams was prominent as an athlete, Teacher, Journalist, Actor and Playwright.

He attended the New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary School (NAMS) and after graduation taught science there.

He was a founding member and President of NA Canje Youth Leaders Council..

As a playwright, he wrote 10 plays many of which were staged at the NCC.

He also worked as a journalist at the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation and was Editor in Chief of the Evening News.

His petition to be admitted to the Guyana bar was presented by Attorney-at-Law Lyndon Amsterdam before Justice Nareshwar Harnanan in the High Court.

Speaking at the induction ceremony Dr Williams thanked the Court, Justice Harnanan, Attorney Amsterdam, his family many of whom were in attendance and many others for their support.

Dr Williams is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the International Bar Association (IBA) and was recently inducted to the Bar in Trinidad and Tobago.
