A Puma, five feet long which had been killing cattle reared by the people in the Huru Huru Creek , up the Demerara River, has been killed.
Daniel Abrams a 40 year old timber producer shot the animal yesterday morning and brought the carcass to Georgetown.
Abrams said he was walking through the forested area about two miles from Endeavor when he fired his 20 bore shotgun at a deer which crossed his path.
After he had failed to hit his target he saw the puma crouching in the bushes as if about to attack him.
“I fired one shot which hit him in the hind and then I finished him with another ,” Abrams said.
