The Government has laid in Parliament the Order which makes effective the measure reducing the age of majority from 21 years to 18 years in several instances of law.
The Order which was signed by President Arthur Chung on January 7 puts persons aged from 18 years and over under the provisions of the Criminal Law ( Offences) Criminal Law (Procedures) Guyana Citizenship Friendly Societies, New Building Society , Marriage, Infancy/Adoption of Children,
Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic, Trade Unions, Intoxication Liquor Licencing and Land Surveyors Acts.
